Kaalam is an open-accessed publication dedicated to disseminating original research across various disciplines. We welcome submissions from faculty, researchers, students, and external collaborators. These guidelines provide essential information for authors interested in submitting their research for publication in our journal.
Manuscript Preparation:
- General Format: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
- Font and Line Spacing: Use Times New Roman 12 pt. font with double line spacing throughout the manuscript.
- Margins: Set margins to 1 inch on all sides.
- Length: Original research articles should be no longer than 8,000 words.
- Abstract: Include a concise and informative abstract of no more than 250 words, summarizing the research question, methodology, key findings, and main conclusions.
- Keywords: Provide 3-5 relevant keywords that accurately represent your research topic.
- Title Page: Include the manuscript title, author names and affiliations and (including department and email addresses), corresponding author information (if applicable).
Manuscript Structure:
- Introduction: Briefly introduce the research question, its significance, and relevant background information.
- Literature Review: Critically review existing literature relevant to the research question, demonstrating your understanding of the field.
- Methodology: Clearly describe the research methods used, including data collection procedures, sampling techniques, and analysis methods.
- Results: Present your research findings objectively and accurately, using tables, figures, and graphs where necessary. Ensure proper explanation of visuals.
- Discussion: Interpret your findings in relation to the research question and existing literature, highlighting their significance and limitations.
- Conclusion: Summarize the main findings, draw broader implications, and suggest future research directions.
- References: Follow the APA 7th edition format for referencing all cited works.
- Tables and Figures: Number tables and figures consecutively, include captions explaining their content, and ensure they are high-quality and readable in black and white.

Review Process:
- All manuscripts will undergo a peer review process by qualified reviewers in the relevant field.
- Authors will receive a feedback from reviewers and editorial decisions (accept, revise and resubmit, or reject) within an approximately 3-4 weeks period.
